Ryan Camissa Wins 99x Contest to Play on Stage With 30 Seconds to Mars

Our own Jeff Carlisi was on hand bright and early this morning at the 99x studios in Atlanta, GA to judge the "I'm In The Band" contest. Listeners of the radio station were given the chance to win a spot on stage with 30 Seconds to Mars (featuring actor Jared Leto) to play the song, "From Yesterday". Finalists were qualified over the phone and were then narrowed down in the studio by the panel of judges, which included Jeff, and then cut down to the final five. The final five played on air and Ryan Camissa was announced as the winner. He will be on stage with 30 Seconds to Mars tomorrow night, March 13th, at the Arena at Gwinnett Center for the Taste of Chaos Tour, where they will be playing with The Used, Senses Fail, Saosin, Chiodos, and Aiden.

When Corporate Team Building Goes bad

CNN Money recently reported on the 101 Dumbest Moments in Business, which is, well, a list of dumb things that businesses have done, it's a pretty self-explanatory title. Our favorite moment comes in at  #17 and involves the home security company. Alarm One.  Here is what the  article had to say about the experience:

Jeez, what a crybaby...

A jury in Fresno, Calif., awards $1.7 million in damages to Janet Orlando, who quit her job with home security company Alarm One after team-building exercises during which she and her colleagues were forced to eat baby food, wear diapers, or submit to being spanked on the butt with a rival company's yard signs.

I hope you guys got to see the piece on CNN Headline News this morning during Robin and Company and enjoyed seeing our favorite morning news personalities having a great time jamming with rock stars.

Robin Meade, Will Selva, Adrianna Costa, and Bob Van Dillen, from CNN Headline News' Robin and Company, spent an afternoon at Camp Jam INC working with Jeff Carlisi, Derek St. Holmes, and Liberty DeVitto on how to go from a news team to a bonafide rock band while learning more about each other and coming together as a team to make it all work.

This morning, Will pointed out that he had never even sat down at a drum set before and by the end of the afternoon he was not only keeping a beat, but helping to anchor the band. He and Bob both expressed a desire to go back and keep rehearsing because they learned so much and had such a great time.

Said Robin of the Camp Jam INC experience, "“Who hasn’t fantasized about being a rock star? Even though we already operate as a team and work on air together everyday, I feel like the Robin and Company chemistry is enhanced now because we were able to see each other in a different light during Camp Jam INC. My teammates and I loved every minute of jamming with these rock legends. Thank goodness for their patience while we fumbled through the learning process at first!”

All in all, Robin, Adrianna, Will, and Bob were really excited about this opportunity and were pleasantly surprised with the positive results they achieved in just one afternoon.

CNN Headline News’ Robin & Company Gets Rock and Roll Makeover from legendary rockers at Camp Jam INC

Starting tomorrow(Dec 7), the CNN Headline News morning show Robin & Company will air segments showing how their anchors (Robin Meade, Will Selva, Bob Van Dillen and Adrianna Costa) attended a Camp Jam INC session one sunny afternoon and became living rock legends. Needless to say, there are definitely some hidden talents on this news team.

So make sure to tune in to CNN Headline News tomorrow between 6 and 10am for these little snippets. On Friday, December 8, they will show their final performance and the only hint I can give is, "She's got a smile that it seems to me/Reminds me of childhood memories..." Oh yeah, it's good.
